Trip to the cinema

So as I mentioned before I went to the cinema to watch a few films with my best mate before she left for Hong Kong (TT_TT So gonna miss her!) We didn’t manage to fit 4 films in in the end (although we could have if we skipped dinner lol!), instead we went to see Thor 3D, Rio 2D and Beastly – in that order. We did want to watch the first showing of Beastly but it was sold out! “Is it really that good?” I thought to myself. It was actually alright! It was not too cheesy and there were humourous parts that made the audience laugh. I really liked Mary-Kate’s role as the witch, scary but with awesome outfits; she reminded me of characters from Lineage II and Aion. Almost didn’t recognise her for a moment because I still remembered her face from her kid actress days. The transformation of Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) into the “beast” was interesting. Amazed at what make-up and prosthetics can do! There wasn’t much of a climax to the storyline, it was rather a easy ride for Kyle really – turning into a beast, finding a girl, making her fall in love with him, happy “sealed with a kiss” ending . According to some, the film was far from the novel it was based on. I haven’t read the book so I haven’t a clue. Might try it out some day.

Before watching Rio us girlies went into Maccy Dees to grab a bite and to miss all the boring trailers (Thor had 25minutes of trailer!). When we got into the screen, it had already started and we only arrived 10 minutes late… Ah well. It was a good film with lots to laugh about. I didn’t really have much of a great seat because I sat behind some bars over the doorway which meant it blocked the bottom part of the screen. Nevertheless I did enjoy the film and found it funny. The Rio carnival made me want to dance and prance around (but I didn’t of course). Half way through the movie the speakers from the right-side of the room emitted a buzzing sound which annoyed the hell out of people. After the speaker “popped” the one on the otherside thought it’d emit the annoying sond too. So when the ending credits rolled up, the whole screen emptied in 5 seconds. By the time Liz and I left (nearish the end of the credits) only 2 people were left to enjoy the lovely buzzing sound.

Thor was a film I didn’t plan on watching that day. We just happened to watch it because Beastly was packed. However it was an enjoyable film and I thought better than Beastly. However, it was popcorn entertainment and I just wonder how it would be if someone that well mannered lived near me. Just wouldn’t be possible…
