Joining the Fun Committee

There is a committee at work that organises fun monthly events for the office and I’m privileged to be asked to join it. Well, people moved jobs and thus the committee members shrunk and they wanted someone creative on the team so here I am! There is currently 4 of us in the group but it may grow bigger should anyone else want to join.

It’s so nice to be able to organise something fun for the office and try new activities for free (the company pays for it)! So far I’ve seen Skyfall at the IMAX, went Go Karting, cooked dumplings for food day (I won a cook book) and visited a circus dinner party for Christmas. It has been fun and hopefully I can bring more to the table and plan some more exciting activities this summer.

We’ve started planning for the next few months and have a variety of activities in the pipeline, such as:

  • Dubai Themed Party
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • ¬†Wii Party with possible BBQ (depends if we can get a venue)
  • Laser Tag
  • Picnic in the Park with Rounders
  • Regents Park Open Air Theatre
  • Team Building Event

It all sounds so exciting and I can’t wait to participate in it all!

Have you done anything fun recently that involves bonding/socialising that you would recommend us to go try?

With Love,
Keki xoxo

  • The committee sounds really fun! (Especially the events). I’m not part of any particular group these days since graduating school. But, when I was an undergrad, I loved being part of one of my school’s honor society and being apart of the events management team. It was fun helping with the catering portion and doing social events outside of school together with everyone heh. Keep in touch <3

  • Ooh a fun committee at work sounds so nice! I have had plenty of jobs I was just miserable at and it sure would have been nice to have been able to do things like a Wii Party or Laser tag Lol

Ooh, that’s awesome that your office has a committee to plan events like that. I think it’s great when work places put effort into getting people together and gives some breaks from work :) Unfortunately, our company has gotten so big, that it’s harder to do that now. We used to do movies, parties, and stuff like go-karting more often.

All of the events you have planned sound really fun! We hold food contests once in a while like dessert contests, salsa contests, etc.

  • Congrats on being asked to join! This reminds me of The Office (US version) where they have a Party Planning Committee, although there were a lot of power struggles within the committee….

Laser tag sounds really fun, I can’t think of anything to recommend. How about those outdoor obstacle courses where people need to work together in order to finish? @.@ I tried…

    • Thank you! Well there are only 4 if us and we’re quite a small company of under 50 people so its not too hard to manage and organise as a team.

An outdoor obstacle course activity sounds great! I will look into that and see if anyone likes the idea.
