Derbyshire Bike Ride

Over the May Day Bank Holiday weekend a bunch of friends and I drove all the way up to Derbyshire to hire some bikes for a day of exercise in the countryside of the Peak District. We actually did this last year and had so much fun, scare and giggles that we decided it as a yearly event.

There were 9 of us this time and we came very prepared for food, snacks and torches (we had to ride in the dark last time since we got lost). We had bought way too much!

So many sandwiches for 9 people...

It was a love weekend and the weather was so sunny! Happy days ^^ We rode for 24 miles and managed to not go off track (everyone decided to own a map this time) and completed it in 4.5 hours. Yay!

So sunny!

After a long afternoon of bike riding we head back to the hotel for a short rest before going to Cherry Tree Farm for some delicious din din. This place is a pub chain with amazing carvery, mains and desserts that is great value for money! If you ever come across this chain you should definitely try it!

The were just resting on each other. So cute!

  • This is the second blog I’ve stumbled on that’s posting about food. I’m too hungry for this, pleaaaaasseeee.

Looks like you had such a fun time, though. I want to do something like this with my friends – will definitely take tips for here if I do. Also, taking a bike ride sounds way more refreshing and healthy compared to what I did over the Bank holiday weekend … get way too drunk, lol.

  • It’s really nice there. I don’t live too far away, so I used to go quite a lot with my sister. We’d take the dog up there with us and she used to love it up there.
You’ve got some great photos there.
