Review: Chin Chin Labs Camden

Chin Chin Labs is very famous for making frozen ice cream with liquid nitrogen on their premises. Their shop in Camden Town is usually busy with a queue outside during the summer months.

I went last summer when I happened to stumble across it during my trip to Camden. Although there was a queue, it wasn’t long till we were served. The ice cream is mixed in stand mixers (I want one!) And the liquid nitrogen poured in, releasing a mysterious steam from the pot.

All the staff is dressed in lab coats and goggles. They are very friendly but too busy to have a chat xD

The ice cream is served in small polystyrene bowls lined with a sheet of paper with their printed logo. The ice cream looks like it’s been painted into the bowl in a swift movement. You get a good portion in each bowl.

We tried the chocolate and honeycomb flavour. Both were really nice and not too sweet. The chocolate flavour was more bitter than sweet and tasted like brownies.

I would totally recommend the place for any dessert or ice-cream lovers. Its a really cool experience to watch it being made!
